Studies ( M.A. Equivalent) , at the University of Oriental Studies of Naples, Italy.
Dissertation “Stories of Bengal, Boston and Beyond. Mapping the South Asian diaspora in Jhumpa
Lahiri’s collection Interpreter of Maladies”.

RESEARCH GRANTS/BURSARIES

 - December 2016. Awarded a Research Grant from the JFK Library Foundation -Institute for
North American Studies, Freie Universität, Berlin (Germany).

 - April 2008-June 2009. Granted a scholarship for International Academic Research in Calcutta ( India), at Jadavpur University
and University of Calcutta. Further research was carried out in new Delhi, at the Jawaharlal Nehru
University (JNU) and the Sahitya Akademi (National Academy of Letters).

 - July 2003.  “International Workshop in Literary Translation”, sponsored by the British Council. Granted a bursary
to attend a workshop in Literary Translation at Girton College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, UK.

 - September- October 2000 Awarded an university grant to attend a course of Hindi at the "Dante School of Foreign Languages", Jaipur,
India.

TEACHING ACTIVITY

Nov. 2012- pres. Angloamerican Language and Translation. Teaching position at the University of
Ragusa, Italy. Teaching involves intense text analysis and academic writing; frontal lessons, translation
of academic and non academic articles, intercultural literacy through comparative linguistic frameworks.

Jan 2007 – February 2008. English Language and Translation. Teaching position at the University of
Naples  “L’Orientale”. Teaching involved reading and translation of literary works
by American and Postcolonial authors. The course was also focused on literary/translation theories , and
on the methodologies of criticism. Part of the course also involved the analysis of films based on
the literary works discussed in the classroom.

Oct-Dec. 2006. University of Naples ‘L’Orientale’. Department of Comparative
Studies. Taught and tutored I year undergraduate students (Reading and Translation of Early American
Literature Texts). Taught a seminar in Asian American Literature , III year undergraduate students.
