Nunzio Zago

Full Professor of [L-FIL-LET/10]

Nunzio Zago was born in Comiso (Ragusa). Got the degree in Classical Studies at Comiso Lyceum, he attended University studies at the Faculty of Arts & Humanities of the University of Catania and graduated in 1973 with 110/110 cum laude and print award. He obtained the teaching certificate in Italian and Latin for secondary high schools, where he also gained the public competition. First awarded a research grant and then become lecturer of Italian Literature in 1981 at the Faculty of Arts & Humanities of the University of Catania, since 1991-92 he began teaching Methodology and History of Literary Criticism. At the end of 1999, he entered the Faculty of Modern Foreign Languages and Literatures in the same University, and began teaching Italian Literature at the same Faculty in Ragusa Campus as associate professor first and then full professor. He was Director of the Degree Courses in the same Faculty (Ragusa Campus) and later he was appointed Dean. He was Head of the School of Foreign Languages and Literatures until 31 October 2016. He is Director of the scientific committee of Fondazione Gesualdo Bufalino in Comiso, he is member of the scientific commitee of Fondazione Verga in Catania. He is a member of the Board of the Association of Italian Studies (ADI).
Besides numerous essays published in journals, collective books and national and international proceedigs, he has written the following books: "Un poeta della 'Toscanina'.
