Dear Colleagues,
 
We hope this finds you and your dear ones well and safe at this hopefully improving time, which however still commands great caution.
As you can imagine, we are writing this with fingers firmly crossed, but – thanks to a good vaccination programme – the situation in Italy at the moment is such that we are hopeful to be able to hold the event on site in May 2022. At the same time, we are fully prepared to run the conference as a hybrid (if not fully online) event, should circumstances cause us to do so, although that is something we will only be able to judge closer to the date, depending on what regulations are in place then.
 
For now, a few reminders, if we may:
 

1. The conference schedule is confirmed: presentations will start on Thu. 5^th May 2022 and finish by lunchtime on Sat. 7^th May 2022; the social programme will also follow the same pattern we have already outlined. While the programme is (of course, as always) subject to even last-minute change, it will be made available in the conference website before the end of November 2021.

1. Registration fees are also confirmed, and we are very grateful to all those who have already registered. Please note that, because receipts have already been issued and sent to registered participants, no reimbursements can be envisaged at this stage. All other information provided in the previous circulars still applies.

1. All participants will be expected to comply with the rules and regulations applying in Italy at the time the conference is run; for example, this may refer to vaccination passports being required for travel, indoor dining and participation in events at academic institutions. Please refer to the websites of your governments, but also EU pages, such as https://reopen.europa.eu/en/map/ITA/7011 and https://app.euplf.eu/#/, for constant updates.

1. So as to avoid any delays in the publication of the proceedings, we invite participants to submit the finalized version of their papers by 15^th May 2022. This should enable everybody to take into account any observations made during the debate, while allowing the editors to start work on the proceedings before the summer break.
